Do I need to be good at coding?
You do not need to arrive with a finished portfolio. Check the event description for any prerequisites, and ask the committee if you are unsure which session is right for you.
How do I join CompSoc?
Visit our Students' Union society page for current membership options and prices. The link is on our Contact page.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Coming to an event is a good way to meet people. Say hello to an organiser when you arrive if you would like an introduction.
Do I need a ticket?
Check the individual event page. When a booking link is available, you will find it there alongside the price. If the joining arrangements are unclear, contact the committee.
What happens when I subscribe to the calendar?
A separate CompSoc calendar is added to your calendar app. New events and changes are picked up automatically on your app's refresh schedule. Your existing events are untouched, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who can I ask about accessibility?
Email the committee before the event with your question or access needs. We can help you check the venue and the arrangements.
Can I suggest an event or workshop?
Please do. Send the committee your idea and tell us if you would like to help organise it.
